How come I’m just getting home?

Published by Brandy under Randomness, Ranty Rantness

Why?

Because I had a 6:15 Dr.’s appointment for a ‘follow-up’. My first mistake was really believing the Dr. when she said, “It’ll only take a few minutes!”. My second mistake was waiting around for the part time lady to draw my blood…knowing full well that she’d not be able to do it. The good news is, she listened to me. I was floored! In the end, I offered her an out and told her I’d come back in the AM and have the regular lady do it. I swear, I saw instant relief on her face. Instant.

I’ve got one more test to do to rule out any type of internal bleeding as the cause of my (bad bad bad) anemia. I don’t think I realized, at least initially, that this was a major concern. I’ve always been at least a little anemic, so I didn’t really give it a whole heaping ton of thought. My Dr. seems at least moderately concerned - but not so much that she didn’t make me wait in the room for 30 minutes.

At any rate, I’m beat. I need sleep and I’m like…a week and a half behind on assignments, even though I read till 1 AM last night…so I at least have to work an hour on this stuff…

Gosh I hope these drugs kick in soon…I am in one heck of a mood…that seems to have lasted for the last 8 mos or so.

Two, maybe three things…

Published by Brandy under Randomness

1. It rained yesterday and is cloudy today. Very cloudy. Google Weather has lightening bolts and double digit numbers for the high today.

2. Last night, while surfing around and doing random things, I got a pop-up prompt to ‘upgrade’ to FireFox 3. I clicked “Never” because I’m disappointed that they don’t seem to care/haven’t done anything about the bug related to Wordpress WYSIWYG spell check failure upon auto-save. I am also disappointed at the number of times it crashes on me. Is this a new Firefox feature? “We crash as much as IE, so Microsoft users feel comfortable using it!” No thanks.

3. We’re back on track as far Jerrett and our morning routine. In fact, I just called him in here to check his clothing (else, he’d wear PJ’s or something to school) and now, I’m headed to the shower.

Have a great day.

Today wasn’t half bad…

Published by Brandy under Family Life, Jerrett

Ya know that weather forecast I posted Saturday? Lie. All lies. As I write this, the temp outside is below 84. I don’t know what it is, but I can tell you ask I was pulling into the drive way, it was 81 on my digital readout. Also, it was raining. It’s darn nice out right now actually…which begs, why am I in the house?

As you can see on my Twitter feed, Jerrett slept real late this morning. That always messes with my schedule, because I do everything in a certain order…I’m OCD like that. Anyway, normally, when I get up, he’s either right behind me or already up. Then we go through the motions of breakfast, meds, NO VIDEO GAMES JERRETT!, get dressed, shoes, I SAID NO VIDEO GAMES!, hair, teeth…blah blah video games..blah blah…you get the idea. Well this morning, I had none of that…it was odd. It’s usually between the meds and the getting dressed that I go shower, get ready, all that stuff…but this morning, I was all outta whack, so I didn’t get to do any of that…(No, I didn’t go to work stinky, I shower twice a day, AM/PM, so I had my PM shower…I was still good). Anyway…it totally grosses me out not to shower in the AM before work…so as soon as I hit the door, I showered. And now? Now I’m clean…I don’t want to go outside and get dirty!

(Yes, it took ALL of that to explain…)

Anyway, John’s working late tonight. They’re trying to make some changes and he’s a big part of change making - so he has to stay. It’s really lame, because he’s been working six days a week, 12-14 hours a day, for a month or so now…all of this and a 10% cut in pay. Man this economy sucks.

I’m just going to veg out I think. I TiVo’d Law and Order: Criminal Intent’s season finale last night, so I can watch it. I am so ready for the new season to start. I am stoked about Hero’s. I’m also excited about getting all caught up in all the other shows I watched but didn’t get to last year because of the writers strike (which I totally support, by the way).

Anyway, I’m a slacker. I’m going to go relax. I’m feeling pretty decent - so I don’t want to ‘overdo it’.

Oui Oui - S’il Vous Plaît

Published by Brandy under Randomness

As I sit here writing, John is in the kitchen making French Toast…mmmm. Although, I’ve looked over there a few times and seen him eating more than he’s actually cooking…so I wonder if there will be any left for the rest of us!?

I’m awake. Sort of. Man, I slept in today. I think I really needed it because I’ve been so doggone tired recently. I know it has a lot to do with the (bad bad bad) anemia, but that still doesn’t make the ‘tiredness’ go away.

I had a very vivid dream last night and I’m still trying to figure it out. It starts out, I am at a wedding at the Boyd Community Center (hahaha) and we’re all sitting around on folding chairs, chatting. The funny thing is that we’re sitting at tables - odd for the actual ceremony. Anyway, we’re sitting there and I bring out my laptop for some reason (likely to work…ya know) and then everyone starts bringing out theirs. The kids? They are bringing out random gaming systems. We’re all sitting around, comparing machines and chatting - all the while, this wedding is going on.

Very odd.

But it gets better.

It appears as though we’re all kinda staying at the same hotel, but somehow, I end up in the wedding suite. It was so strange…the whole thing is kinda blurry - but in the end, I lodged a complaint with the hotel manager about the bed covering and the fact that I was sent to the wedding suite, on accident.

It was very odd.

My laptop (and various other laptops) played a big role in my dream. I kept pulling it out of the bag in various places for various reasons.

Again, very odd.

Oh! The French Toast is ready…brb..

Ok - back.

Listen, if you ever want to know how big of a slob you are when you eat, have some gooey syrupy French Toast - then see how sticky you are post-eating. Kinda makes you wonder how gross you get when you eat non-sticky things.

The plan for the day is pretty much the same as it was yesterday. Try to get a lot done…but fail miserably because you take a random afternoon nap. Today, I a really going to try…but I can already feel myself fading and I’ve only been up an hour.

Saturday Morning Randomness

Published by Brandy under Politics, Randomness

Well, at least the temperature over the next few days will be consistent. I was looking at my Google home page and saw that for the next four days, it will be 108/84. That seems odd for four days in a row.

I have noted (and I am real ticked off about it) that Firefox 3 stops ’spell checking’ after the title of the blog is entered in the WYSIWYG of Wordpress. That irritates me because spelling isn’t exactly my strong suit and I need all the help I can get without introducing Microsoft Evil Characters by typing in Word and bringing it over. Thankfully, I haven’t downloaded FF3 on this PC - it’s only on my laptop.

I wanted to sleep till Noon today, but the phone rang at 6:15. It’s always so much fun when you have friends/relatives that live in different timezones and they can never figure out/calculate the time difference so that they don’t call you at midnight/four AM.

On the list of things I posted about last night that I needed to do this weekend, two of them are done. The kitchen is clean and laundry is in process. I think I’ll take a nap in a bit and do the other couple of things this afternoon.

In regards to politics - I haven’t really been giving it a lot of attention, because I figure whoever the candidates want to be their veepee will be chosen and there isn’t much/anything I can do about that. I also don’t vote along party lines, but rather, research the issues important to me and vote for the candidate who has similar opinions regarding said issues.

I voted for Ross Perot when he ran, then stopped, then ran, then stopped, then ran…I’m ashamed to admit that.

I admit to being bothered by McCain’s lack of knowledge regarding his assets, his blatant disregard for truth regarding matters that he’s flaunted (and lied about) to the media (namely, that ‘unspoken topic’) and his age. For those reasons alone, McCain isn’t on my short list. It makes things much easier…I don’t need to research him to find out his stance on certain matters…besides, based on what I know already, it may or may not be true.

I admit to being uneasy about Obama’s lack of experience. I lived in the Chicagoland area when he was running for his current office. There was lots of talk then about him being fast tracked for the presidency and how he was a super star etc. To be honest, I wasn’t that impressed with a number of decisions he made with regards to children’s issues and education while I lived there. Namely, foster kids.

I don’t know. This is going to be a hard election. It just doesn’t seem like either one really belongs in the White House - of course, that’s just my opinion. I’d much rather see someone who is in their ‘prime’ and has a bit more experience, just not quite as much experience as McCain has - but it is what it is.

(That was WAY longer than I intended!)

All political discussion aside, I think this year will prove to be very interesting. I know I have some pretty interesting plans for the future :)
