This is NOT going to be nice…ok, well, maybe a little!
I am irritated and I need to vent, so that means you get to read about it! Yay!
Ok, a few weeks ago, I was burning one of my Gold Canyon Candles and I noticed that it smelled more waxy than the last one. I thought it was a fluke, but not enough of a fluke that I was willing to buy another big one, so I opted for one of the smaller ones…and sure enough, it was not a fluke…*sigh*
I had only gone to GCC because a friend had been selling them and they were a bit cheaper than Yankee Candles (after you factor in her discount, etc). So, I figured I’d had a good run with GCC and decided to get back to the candles I’d loved for years, Yankee Candles.
My one mistake?
Not using caution when ‘going back’ like I did when I tried to decide if the GCC thing was a fluke. No-Siree-Bob…I went right ahead and got three of the big ones.
I wasn’t disappointed. At first. I mean, they smelled the same as I remember and they made my house smell SO stinkin good! The problem was, the wick-holder-dodad - it was like…to long. When the wick was all said and done, I had a TON of wax (good smelling, expensive wax) left over in my candle. I was NOT happy!
So, what did I do?
I melted it down and measured exactly how much (useless) wax I had left after using all of the wick. Guess what? I had just over the amount needed to make one of their small jars…4.3 oz of unused, unusable, expensive, stupid wax. Those suckers sell for $10 in the store (and online!).
So, I sent them an email. I am already certain what their answer will be, “we sell wax warmers online and in the store…blah blah blah”
This really irritates me! I mean seriously! If they are going to require you to make an additional purchase to get the full use of their product, shouldn’t they disclose that at the start?
Anyway…that’s my rant for the day. Freakin Yankee (useless, leftover expensive wax) Candles.
Yeah…I’m not buying a warmer. I’ll just throw these stupid things away and never buy another Yankee Candle again!
