It’s Been a While Since We’ve Had a Pathetic Observation…
Did you think I’d forgotten?
It’s true, I’ve been sicker than normal and things have been more irritating that normal, but really, who could forget about random pathetic observations? They’re fun, right?
Ok - the only way this particular observation could be any better is if I had been able to yank my phone out fast enough to snap a picture. Really? My phone sucks at pictures. The time between button pushing and shutter reaction is to freakin long…all of the pictures come out blurry…arg.
Anyway, so today I was driving down the road towards home. I’d exited the freeway (I started taking the freeway again to get better gas millage) and was making my way down the one-north-south-road-in-all-of-Gilbert-which-does-not-have-an-I60-exit (Lindsey, for those who care) when one of the two Cross Walk Red Lights turns red (Yeah…the cross walk has a red light…I know…). Then…across the road goes this kind of odd looking fellow riding a pink beachcomber…with a kid trailer attached.
Sort of like this:
Ok, so odd looking fellow with a pink beachcomber bike and a kid trailer. I’m thinkin daddy got stuck with the rug rats while mom was cooking some dinner…
The bike goes by.
I look in the trailer to see the kids.
What’s in there? Not kids…I assure you!
Nope…it was dogs. The guy was taking his dogs for a ride in the kid trailer…
This, of course, is not near as ‘pathetic’ as the two guys I saw pushing strollers down Val Vista, only to discover that the strollers ALSO contained dogs.
What? Are dogs to good to walk anymore? Are we seriously so lazy that taking the dog out for a walk actually involves assembling a piece of equipment intended for children?
Yeah, I don’t even know.
The only thing I wish is that I’d had a darn camera. I need a back up camera for the car…maybe that’s what I’ll ask for for my birthday.
This is more of an ‘encounter’ rather than observation…
So I realized on my way to work yesterday I didn’t have a lighter, so I decided to stop and buy one. I go into the store, walk up the counter and tell the lady I need a lighter. She says, “ID Please” and I said…”ok, let me go get it”. I walk out the car, get it and come back in…she hands me the lighter, rings it up, takes my money and never asks to look at the ID she just asked me to go get.
I was irritated so I asked her about it - she just points at a sign that says, “ID required to buy…” and in the list is ‘lighters’ - and I say, “Yeah, I know, you told me to go get my ID then you never asked to see it, why?” and she just shrugs.
I guess simply asking for me to have it is enough.
It really irritated me.
Random Thoughts + Pathetic Observation of The Day
Twofer…uh…Monday. Yeah, twofers are better for, say, Tuesdays. But I couldn’t wait to get home and write about today’s POTD + rant a little about random stuff.
First, we have this:
What, you might be asking, is this? This is a picture of the Magazine rack at the grocery store where I just purchased this weeks grub. That black thing? That’s a big ole thick plastic cover, zip tied to the rack, so no one can see the awfulness contained on the cover.
What, you might be asking, is so awful? I don’t know. You look and tell me:
I guess to really get the irony of this…whatever it was…you’d have to see the magazine just below it and the one to the right and below the star…both were WAY more awful than this.
Which begs…does Cosmo have a reputation…just because its Cosmo?
To find out, I went back to the area where they have other periodicals and noted that this months issue of Maxim does not, in fact, have anything covering Megan Fox, who is nude and strategically covered with a sheet. Probably a twin size sheet at that!
I don’t disagree with shielding the eyes of youngsters from mature ‘content’ - but I do think its rather odd that fully dressed (even if its inappropriate in some circles) Kate Hudson gets the black plastic covering while totally nude and barely covered Megan Fox gets to hang out for all to see (don’t even get me started on the barely there bikini shots in the other two mags I mentioned earlier.
So that, my friends, is my POTD + Random Thoughts. It just seems odd…I mean, I get it, to a degree…but that doesn’t make it LESS odd.

No fun follow up for today…my source is going through a family crisis - send some thoughts towards Firemom - her grandfather has passed away and she could use some positive energy from everyone.
